Use & Care:
Care and Maintenance: Pillows, Duvets, and Bedding
Our products feature raw, minimally processed fibers, making them unsuitable for complete submersion in water, including pillows and duvets.
We suggest spot cleaning your White Lotus Home pillows, duvets, and bedding using a solution of 3 parts water to 1 part vinegar. Apply the solution to the stain and expose it to sunlight. Repeat until the stain fades and odors dissipate. Alternatively, you can use a mild laundry detergent. For surface stains, hydrogen peroxide is effective for blood, while rubbing alcohol can remove oils from cosmetics.
Avoid leaving bedding damp, as it may lead to uneven wear or mold growth. After cleaning or a spill, dry any moisture by placing the item in the sun or using a hair dryer. Ensure it is fully dry before re-adding sheets or protective covers like our Organic Barrier Cloth Covers. Please note that these suggestions are at your own risk, and results may vary.
Refreshing Pillows & Duvets
Certain fibers, such as kapok, may absorb natural oils, affecting loft and fluffiness. To restore them, place pillows in the dryer on the "Cold Air/ Fluff" setting for 15 to 20 minutes. Specially-designed wool dryer balls or clean tennis balls can assist in fluffing the inner fibers. Avoid using a heated setting to prevent damage to the fibers.
Refreshing Wool Bedding
Wool bedding, like duvets and toppers, may benefit from exposure to direct sunlight and air once a month, acting as a natural sanitizer. If professional cleaning is preferred, opt for a dry-cleaning process. Avoid submerging wool bedding in water or using a washing machine, as this may cause irreversible felting.
Cleaning Sheets & Covers
Sheets and covers can be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and dried on low heat, although line drying is preferable.
Cleaning Cotton Belle Covers
Refer to the provided chart for fiber content and specific care instructions for Cotton Belle Covers. Fabrics marked with a * can be machine washed on the gentle cycle, with line drying preferred.
Cleaning Coyuchi Blankets & Sheets
Coyuchi's cotton and linen products are machine washable. Use warm water and non-phosphate soap for whites and light colors, and cold water for dark colors. Line dry or tumble dry low, promptly removing from the dryer. Avoid using whiteners, as they may diminish colors; use non-chlorine bleach if needed. Place wool dryer balls in the dryer to soften fabric and reduce drying time.
Cleaning Coyuchi Organic Cotton Mattress Pads
Machine wash Coyuchi organic cotton mattress pads on the gentle cycle with like colors and cold water, using a natural, plant-based laundry detergent. Avoid using whiteners, opting for non-chlorine bleach if necessary. Line dry or tumble dry low, removing promptly. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets are not recommended, but wool dryer balls can be used to soften fabric and reduce drying time. Iron as needed on a warm setting.
