Green Cotton: Affordable and Chemical-Free
Our Green Cotton offers a budget-friendly alternative to organic cotton without compromising quality. Sourced from farmers in the United States, Green Cotton lacks certification but delivers a slightly firmer texture compared to organic cotton. What sets it apart is its absence of dyes, perfumes, and flame retardants commonly found in conventional cotton, providing a safe and cost-effective choice for bedding materials.
Wool from Ethical Sources
At White Lotus Home, ethical standards are paramount. Our sheep are raised in sustainable environments with rotating pastures to maintain ecological balance, and their wool is never treated with chemicals or flame retardants. Encased in a layer of premium wool, our Dreamton futons boast natural antimicrobial properties and dust mite resistance, without the need for chemical treatments. Wool's insulative properties ensure comfort in all seasons, making it a versatile choice for bedding.
Sleeping on the Green Cotton and Wool Dreamton Futon
Designed without springs, the Dreamton futon minimizes motion disturbance, providing uninterrupted sleep for all occupants. It can be placed on various surfaces, including box spring sets, platform beds, or bi-fold and tri-fold futon frames, and can even serve as a floor bed. Optimal air circulation is ensured with a slatted bed frame, featuring slats spaced no more than 2" - 2.5" apart. Offering both support and softness, the Dreamton delivers a medium-firm feel using healthy and non-toxic materials, promoting a restful and rejuvenating sleep experience.
Differences between White Lotus Home Futons and Mattresses
- Thickness: Mattresses typically measure 6" thick, while futons are 5" thick.
- Handles: Mattresses feature side handles for maneuverability, whereas futons do not.
- Shape: Mattresses have side panels for a boxier appearance, while futons feature rounded sides. Despite these variances, both products maintain exceptional quality, with mattresses available in thicknesses of up to 8" inches.

Use & Care:
Care and Maintenance: Pillows, Duvets, and Bedding
Due to their raw, minimally processed nature, our products cannot withstand complete immersion in water without risking damage to the fibers, including pillows and duvets.
We recommend spot cleaning your White Lotus Home pillows, duvets, and bedding using a solution of 3 parts water to one part vinegar. Apply the solution to the stain and expose it to sunlight. Allow it to dry thoroughly and repeat the process until the stain fades and odors vanish. Alternatively, you can use a mild laundry detergent instead of vinegar. For surface stains, hydrogen peroxide is effective for blood stains, while rubbing alcohol can tackle oils from cosmetics.
It's crucial to ensure that bedding does not remain damp, as this can lead to uneven wear or mold growth. After cleaning or a spill, promptly dry any moisture by placing the item in sunlight or using a hairdryer. Ensure it is completely dry before reapplying sheets or protective covers, such as our Organic Barrier Cloth Covers. Please note that these recommendations are followed at your own risk, and outcomes may vary.
Revitalizing Pillows & Duvets
Certain fibers, especially kapok, can absorb natural oils, affecting loft and fluffiness over time. To restore these qualities, pillows can be placed in the dryer on the "Cold Air/Fluff" setting for 15 to 20 minutes. Using specially-designed wool dryer balls or clean tennis balls can aid in fluffing the inner fibers. Avoid using heated settings to prevent damage to the fibers.
Refreshing Wool Bedding
Wool bedding, such as duvets and toppers, may require special care from time to time. We recommend exposing them to direct sunlight and air at least once a month, as sunlight acts as a natural sanitizer. If professional cleaning is preferred, opt for dry-cleaning only. Avoid submerging wool bedding in water or using washing machines, as this can result in irreversible felting of the wool.
Cleaning Sheets & Covers
Sheets and covers can be washed in cold water on a gentle cycle and dried on low heat, though line drying is preferable for optimal results.
Cleaning Cotton Belle Covers
For Cotton Belle Covers, refer to the provided chart for fiber content and care instructions specific to your fabric. Fabrics marked with a * are machine washable on the gentle cycle, with line drying being the preferred method.
Cleaning Coyuchi Blankets & Sheets
All Coyuchi cotton and linen products are machine washable. Follow these guidelines for best results: machine wash whites and light colors on the gentle or delicate cycle with warm water and non-phosphate soap. For dark colors, use cold water and non-phosphate soap. Line dry or tumble dry low, removing promptly. Avoid using whiteners, as they may diminish color brilliance. Use wool dryer balls to naturally soften fabric and reduce drying time.
Cleaning Coyuchi Organic Cotton Mattress Pads
Machine wash all Coyuchi organic cotton mattress pads on the gentle or delicate cycle with like colors and cold water, using a natural, plant-based laundry detergent. Avoid using whiteners, as they may affect color brilliance. Line dry or tumble dry low, removing promptly. Fabric softeners and dryer sheets are not recommended, as they reduce absorbency. Use wool dryer balls to naturally soften fabric and reduce drying time. Iron as needed on a warm setting.
